About Helioid

Helioid is a guided exploration engine — a new kind of search engine that shows you what’s hidden past the first page of results and helps you find stuff even when you’re not sure what you’re looking for.

Looking for stuff on the web is like feeling your way through a gigantic pitch black room filled with odds and baubles, some interesting, some less so. Traditional search engines provide you with a flashlight to help you find your way, but Helioid would rather turn the lights on so you can have a better look around.

How does it work?

Results are returned with lists of Categories you can use to refocus your search or drill down into the specific topics that interest you. If you want to keep your eye on a topic as it develops, you can Follow the query and receive automatic updates as new results come in. You can also form Search Groups, and share searches and results within the Group to better coordinate collaborative research efforts. Both individuals and organizations can streamline their research efforts using Helioid’s search tools.
